Of course, I’m delighted that the family are safe and sound. But the whole thing does sound like a scene from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

“Stranded in the snowy California woods for three days after losing their way while searching for a Christmas tree, a father and his three children fashioned a “Help” sign out of twigs on a nearby unpaved road, according to the helicopter pilots who found them.”

It’s easy to forget that once, these giants were seen as the future for commercial passenger airlines. Nice, eerie pictures.

Pity they were full of hydrogen.
